Commercial Construction Carpenter

Brief Job Description

This position will be working on remodels of existing facilities, facility repairs and set-up of new stores. Primarily constructs interior framing, hangs drywall, finishes drywall, installs acoustic ceiling material, paints, installs millwork, installs interior décor materials, installs store fixtures & equipment, and completes other duties as assigned. Extensive travel is required.

Reporting Relationships

Accountable and reports to: Special Project Field Superintendent

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and
   departmental guidelines.
2. Completes interior build-out commercial construction (framing, drywall, acoustic
   ceilings, painting, millwork installation, etc.).
3. Assembles and Installs store fixtures.
4. Responsible for being safety minded and comply with the established safety work rules.
5. Attends departmental and company meetings.
6. Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions.
• Must be physically able to perform heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 75 pounds frequently and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

• Must be licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle while pulling a trailer.
• Must be maintain a Medical card by passing a DOT physical.
• Must have the ability to follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with good attention to detail.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Must be experienced in operation of various power tools and construction equipment.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent with three to five years related commercial carpentry experience, strong residential construction experience, or training at an accredited school or trade program.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a construction site with exposure to noise, dust, dirt, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and construction equipment. There is significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Extensive travel is required.
